Assignment 4: Fashion
I have a background in fashion photography because of my year at College for Creative Studies, so I felt at home doing this in class assignment. I love working with different models to get dynamic photos that you typically don’t see in a photojournalist’s portfolio. My favorite part was working with my female model because she was very comfortable in front of the camera and knew how to pose herself. Having models that know how to “work it” is very helpful because it lets the photographer be able to focus on the lights, while the model does their thing.

For my work outside of class, I got two models with interesting outfits to pose for me. Cristin and I started in the studio to get some basic shots, then we went into downtown Mount Pleasant to get some shots that have a city back alley vibe to them. I wanted my photos to feel grungy and alternative rather than high fashion. I really enjoyed doing this shoot because these are the kinds of photoshoots I am used to doing. With my time at College for Creative Studies, I was able to take some knowledge from last year and apply it to this photoshoot.
